It is a well known fact that Manchester United are always on the lookout to sign talented youngsters from all around the world and the next player on the shortlist of the Red Devils seems to be Benfica attacker Umaro Embalo.
According to reports from ESPN FC, United chief scout Javier
Ribalta and head of development John Murtagh watched Embalo during the Benfica
under-19s’ UEFA Youth League tie with United in Lisbon on Wednesday.
Embalo is an attacking player who can be deployed as a winger as
well as a striker and United are said to have been scouting the 16-year-old for
well over a year now.
Having been left impressed with the youngster, the Premier League
giants are now believed to be ready to make a swoop but they will have to face
competition from a host of elite clubs in order to land the services of the
teenage sensation.
In addition to Embalo, United are also said to be casting a close
eye on the Benfica duo of Joao Felix and Joao Filipe and it will be interesting
to see if Jose Mourinho’s side are able to sign any of the three aforementioned
players.
